Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2013
Not a great deal on the patch this weekend other than a couple of Whimbrel, 5 Ringed Plover and 4 Dunlin and a dozen or so Manx Shearwaters past on Sunday evening. However, the most exciting news were the additions of two new garden species. Firstly, a very vocal Nuthatch got me out of bed early on Saturday and was then followed by a group of 6+ Crossbill flying over on Sunday!
How bizzare, my 62nd garden tick was crossbill followed by nuthatch which became 63. I'm one ahead though as cormorant put me on 64 a few weeks back. B
