Brixham Pelagic

Took an exploratory trip out to sea on Wednesday evening with a few Devon birders around 9 miles off Berry Head. Nothing fantastic, despite a bit of chumming, but a good trip nonetheless and good to catch up with Torbay birders.
Highlights were a single Balearic Shearwater, a
t least 2 juv. Yellow-legged Gulls and 2+ Harbour Porpoise. Also a few Manx Shearwater (including a bird showing feet clearly protruding beyond the tail - see photo). Though plumage wise, this bird is clearly a Manx, the protruding feet is usually a feature associated with the potential vagrant, Yelkouan Shearwater, However, Manx sometimes show this if birds are about to land or have just taken off. Interesting to see it though!
Certainly potential for later in the season and I look forward to the next one.......
