Brixham Boat Trip

Spent a day birding around Torbay with good mates Sam and Pete who were visiting for a couple of days. The obvious birding location was Brixham Harbour which has produced some fantastic birding in recent days! Highlight of the day was certainly a short boat trip around the outer harbour with our skipper Ben, where we had some great views of some quality species (see photos below) in betweeen rather painful hail stone showers!
A trip to nearby Broadsands also produced a couple of Black-necked Grebes, 1 RT Diver and numerous GN Divers as well as Razorbill and Guillemot, Great-crested Grebe and Cirl Bunting.
Finally, a visit to the Teign Estuary failed to produce the hoped for Glaucous Gull, but a leucistic Herring Gull was of interest.
A great day with two great great mates!

  4. Lee - Don't worry Lee I guess it must have been a fluke - or your dodgy eyesight!
Maybe I'll hang onto that lens a bit longer!
