It seems the Spotted Crake has now started behaving more like a "normal" Spotted Crake! On Wednesday, the bird seemed to be very easy to see and on view almost continuously and now it seems very elusive and more typical for the species. I wonder if the bird had just arrived when I first found it and needed to feed more regularly? Anyway, I haven't seen it since Wednesday (despite looking) so I hope I get another chance to see it in the next few days. However, the big news today was finally catching up with an Egyptian Goose that was first seen on Wednesday and a first for me on the patch!!
