Smew and more Water Rail Carnage!

Sunday 10th January
Redwings just seem to be everywhere today and getting weaker by the day - Keep feeding the garden birds!
The patch highlights today included:
Water Rail 4+ - Incredibly I witnessed another Meadow Pipit being taken by one!
Grey Wagtail - 1

Jack Snipe - Still showing very well
Chiffchaff - 1

Shoveler - 2
Lapwing - 90+
Med. Gull - 1st winter
Eider - 1 on sea

Common Scoter - 6 on sea
Black-tailed Godwit - 2
Dunlin - 13
Ringed Plover - 6+

Then a trip to the Exe produced the hoped for Smew - a drake and a redhead. Somewhat distant from Exton, but very nice find all the same - Well done Kev.
