Saturday 2nd January
Another day of freezing temperatures, but pleasant in the sunshine. Highlight of the day was undoubtedly a female Bullfinch in the garden for about 5 mins found by the Mrs whilst I was brushing my teeth! A shout of "Bullfinch on the feeder" sent me dashing across to the bedroom like a teeth frothing lunatic! It was soon in the bins and on the list, taking the garden list to 43 after having had Song Thrush and Fieldfare new this week too!

A visit to the patch produced 8 diver sp flying west, the lone Eider and a lone Razorbill all on the sea. Whereas the Otter produced a count of 10 Ringed Plover,
8 Redshank, 6 Brent Geese, 25 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel and a very obliging Water Rail. The rest of the day was spent working on creating the garden Pond!

Water Rail

William on the Cricket Pitch, as usual.
