Just returned from 3 days at sea carrying out surveys off the Devon and Welsh coasts. It was a hard 3 days with gurgling stomachs and offensive smells of diesel and cooking from the Mess, but the birds kept us smiling.
Highlights included:
Black Tern
Artic Skua
Bonxie
and a welcome bit of terra firma in the form of Lundy for a few hours, where Lapland Bunting and Firecrest helped numb the pain.
Finally, back home the Glossy Show continues.......
